LOEX 2007
Last year I applied for, and was granted, a continuing education scholarship by the local LIBRAS organization (thanks, LIBRAS!) to subsidize the cost of my attending the LOEX 2007 conference. Basically, they pay for my registration and in exchange I need to write up a summary of high points I take away from this experience. I was thinking I could use the blog part of this site to post my thoughts on the conference and maybe even include some pictures and other fun stuff. Stay tuned to the blog for more.
Eventually my report will show up on this LIBRAS page here: http://libras.org/ContEd.html#reports
There’s lots of acronyms up there…here’s a quick guide:
LIBRAS ~ a consortium of 17 private liberal-arts colleges and universities in the Chicago area (including Columbia College Library) (I’ll post what the acronym actually stands for if I run across it later)
LOEX ~ AKA “the Clearinghouse for Library Instruction,” AKA “Library Orientation EXchange” Find out more on their main web site here: http://www.emich.edu/public/loex/loex.html
